When they say it's "Chinese food" and you think you're eating chicken, pork or beef, you may very well be eating cat or dog meat. Seriously. Remember, you're talking about a nation that doesn't control it's own citizens as regards animals. If you live near one of their dog "festivals" your pet dog could get stolen and skinned alive, blow-torched to death or boiled alive.

No, I'm not kidding. They're bad. Really bad people. Bad. Bad. Bad. I'm talking bad.

Doesn't do any good to ask...they'll just say no, and still use it..

OP, it's the MSG...you'll have to make your own Chinese food if you love it so much...it's not hard to do, and tastes a LOT better than the restaurant crap.

Most better quality Chinese restaurants in areas where people know the difference between good and bad don't utilize MSG and make a point of mentioning it on menus. MSG is a preservative and originally utilized for shelf stability of large containers of sauces/base in Chinese restaurants. While most still use pre-made products as a base, they're utilizing better products minus the worry of alienating customers due to health issues.

This.

I've had a couple of friends who find it necessary to avoid MSG because of their similar symptoms. Yes, the article says there is minimal evidence that MSG causes these symptoms. Nevertheless, the symptoms went away for my friends who started to avoid MSG in their Chinese food. Can't hurt to try. But don't ask as you are ordering. Look for restaurants who advertise being MSG-free. Hint - usually they are not the cheap ones.

Are you eating real Chinese food or what they call Chinese food in the US?

What do you mean by feeling bad?
