I miss the good old days, when Coke and Pepsi had sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

The negatives like you posted are not true or exaggerated. So people go blind from drinking coke??? The unhealthy part comes from the calories/sugar.

It's in the name...

And from the phosphoric acid.

I rarely drink soda at all anymore but someone recently told me you can buy Mexican made Coke at Costco and it tastes better because it's made they way original Coke was made.

Yes, I do see many thin and fit people around, now that you mention it. Overweight people, too, of course, but they still aren't the majority.

Most people, by the time they reach adulthood, have heard, from parents, in school, from reading, from watching media that sugar is bad for you. And if they didn't, and they can read, they will find out as adults that soda is bad for you because it contains sugar. It doesn't mean they'll stop drinking it. No one thinks drinking soda is healthy, even if that is their habit.

Of course they did. Fifty years ago was 1969. The Surgeon General warning on the side of every pack dates from 1964. That made it OFFICIAL, but it doesn't mean people didn't know smoking was bad for you before that. Some people didn't smoke because they figured it out just by watching what happened to the ones who did.

It could be a difference in where we live.

That's fine, and what do those people have to do with what I choose to do with my life?
