You can get one on eBay for $12 with free shipping. We shipped one to our daughter who is a CNA at a hospital. She compared it to the expensive ones the hospital uses and said the accuracy was the same.
Changed the batteries, yes. Technically it works, but the readout is so faint now you can't even make it out in the dark. I don't see anyway to adjust it, but thought I'd ask before getting a new one.
Yes. Mine still works after three years. I use it every day, as I have a chronic lung disease. My oxygen saturation is reliably in the 98-99% range, except for the one time it wasn't and I had to get emergency treatment. I love my pulse oximeter. It's reassuring.
They're relatively inexpensive on Amazon. The one I bought was Zacurate brand. Made in China, of course.
I bought one from Phillips and it took so long to come from China I had moved by the time it arrived. I donated it to my former landlord
I too bought the one from Phillips, and also waited a long time. But it was worth it -- when I compared it to the one my sister bought on Amazon, the screen on the Phillips is much easier on the eyes, and more info, for roughly the same price.
Yes, I'll (hopefully) never "need" it, but interesting to see the slight changes that show up after doing different things. IMO, the purchase is cheap insurance, a good investment.
One came from CVS - cost $50.00 - and I use it every morning. If my pulse rate is 60 or above, I take a Digoxin pill. Below 60, I skip that dose.
The second came from amazon - cost $25.00 +-.
The CVS one is probably four or five years old.
I'm sure there are times when something that generally lasts a long time will give out earlier. Just a fact of life.
CVS carries them. So, too, does Walgreen's, and I'm sure you'll find them at Walmart (in the pharmacy), and on-line. Prices vary.
