Hi everyone im going in for open heart surgery for a ventricular septal defect. just wondering if anyone has had any info on this as an adult. they usually happen to babies and it fixes itself. but im 41 and my doctor says i have a hole. so after catherization they decided to go in and patch. they explained everything and the risk of any complications is very low to none as i am a very healthy person. so just wondering like maybe how long recovery is and so on.. also if anyone has any advice for at home while im in hospital at home like dinner for family.. husband and 2 girls 19 & 10
