I wonder if since I am on SSD and have the prescription plan if they cover that???? I guess I will have to call and find that out.
Do you know how long you are on it before it takes effect??? I was on Wellbutrin for awhile and the first time it worked after two weeks of taking them, but I have tried it since and they do nothing for me.

Still moving on here. Though maybe it may seem strange but dang I still have moments were my brain is like "Mmmm Smoke..." Mental slap and move on.
Way to hang fuzzy. You got the lead and I am right behind ya.

Well today is my 3 month anniversary without the nico-demons!!
I went on wellebutrin for several weeks, quit after 10 days being on the pills like you are suppose to. Then, I quit the pills way before I had to. I was on the pills for about 2 months. Anyway, this is my third time trying to quit the same way. I liked quitting this way because it is sort of like going cold turkey and the pills keep you sort of sain. I never want to smoke again!! yes, I get an occasional craving but it passes so fast. I have gained only 6 pounds and plan on doing some exercise this summer to get rid of the extra weight. I probably won't officially call myself an ex smoker until my 6 month anniv. Once a smoker always can easily be smoke. I like the saying.....NOPE.....

Okay, so I quit ..Now I need to go on a diet!!!HEEEELLLLPPPPP I have gained eight pounds.I dont wanna have to turn sideways to get through the kitchen door for another snack !! I eat celery but I have to put peanut butter on it!! It didn't matter at first because I was slim. I don't crave cigs as much as I crave FOOD!! Oh, gosh, don't you just love those creme puffs? Haven't had one in years until I quit smoking . Oh yes, and those itty bitty york mints..uummm!..Talk to you guys later..gotta go. I'm starving here... I will think about dieting the very first thing in the morning (after breakfast) Just remembered, I got frozen sausage/biscuits I could fix for breakfast! Can't wait til morning... Put them cigarettes down, and grab a candy bar and we will have a toast to quitting!!

I quit several times, and went back to it after a week or a month or even a year. Here's what worked for me:
I quit cold turkey. I chewed gum, not nicorete, just regular gum, non-stop and did the sunflower seed thing for awhile. Without meaning to, I started drinking coffee more, too. Also, I kept a pack of unopened cigarettes on hand for almost two years. For some reason having them near and knowing that if I went crazy, I had cigarettes on hand made me feel less like I had to break down.
And yes, I gained weight. I went from a size 4/6 to an 8. I started eating more sugar. Now I drink a hot cup of tea instead of smoking or eating.

OMG! I thought I was the only crazy person who needed to have an unopened pack in the house!! Like you I was a nut at the thought that I couldn't have one if I wanted to, but for some reason knowing they were there made it more about my choice not to do it. And yes the hot tea works for cravings and if you are sipping the tea you don't eat!!! I actually got turned onto tea when I was losing weight for that reason to keep my mouth busy...and it works for cigs too.

Yes, quitting cold turkey's tough because you're used to using it to relieve stress. Find another easily accessible fun habit in place of it. Carrying around some water and taking a sip works for some people. Gentle athletics like walking and yoga can work similarly, and can help address concerns some people have about quitting smoking making them gain weight due to absense of appetite suppression.

Helloooooo.
I started those Chantix pills this past Sunday (finally). I know I promised to start the weekend before but I didn't keep that promise (feel chitty about it) but I was so guilt ridden that I did start three days ago. The first 3 days, you take one pill a day. The next 4 days, it's 2 pills a day and you're supposedly at your quit date (7 days after starting pills). Then it's 3 more weeks of 2 pills/day and you may or may not have to do that for 2 more months. The whole treatment should be about 3 mths - or more, or less depending.
Question: I'm getting very nauseous. Much more as each day goes by. I don't know what it will be like tomorrow when I start 2 pills/day. I'm also very sleepy in the daytime and have a hard time falling asleep.
According to the little leaflet you get, these are possible effects as is vomiting, constipation and a couple of other warnings.
Has anybody else who has done Chantix had any of the side effects and if you did, do they go away SOON???? The sleep part doesn't concern me too much but the nausea does.
