Sleeping naked, I would be afraid that I would have to run out of the house in the middle of the night.....fire, or someone breaking in. I guess I could leave my clothes, on the edge of the bed in case

I have thought about that! I keep a house dress I lounge in next to the nightstand. The only time I got dressed due to fear of that was when I was laying in bed before falling asleep and there were tornado warnings. If a tornado hit I didn’t want to be under the rubble naked, lol.

You got that right, when I go to bed I put that day’s boxers and T shirt in the laundry basket, get tomorrow’s out and put them in the spare room next to the bathroom, brush my teeth and hit the sack.
Next morning I’ll brush my teeth, shave if I can be bothered, shower, then put the fresh boxers and T shirt on.
A few years back, I’d felt vaguely nauseous in the evening, and kept that day’s boxers on when I got in bed, my wife said, “What’s the story, did I say something to pi$$ you off?”

I sleep naked when alone. Washed the sheets twice a week. The "fecal" issue is probably you either didn't clean up appropriately after going to the bathroom, or you are farting and "leaking" onto the sheets.
I'm sure a tiny amount is on you and gets on everything, but probably no more than general incidental contact on a daily basis.
