I have successfully used a chiropractor 2-3 times for somewhat limited time periods. I have a few issues. I never went 3 times a week except maybe the first 1-2 weeks of an injury/flare up, etc. When my chiro could not help me with my neck he sent me to a acupuncturist and she cured me in about 6 visits. I have also used physical therapy where they put me on traction (which worked far better than the chiro). They put weights on my feet and had me float in a pool (traction). That made a humongous improvement on my spine.
If you have gone that much and still need help then it's not working. You need to pursue other avenues. They should not be calling you for appointments. You should call them. You are in control here; you only think that you are not.

I agree with several other posters here...chiros are quacks mostly. I used to work for one (one of the better ones from what I've heard). Aside from helping some lower back pain, they're mostly a placebo...most clients liked seeing me (a massage therapist) over him anyway lol.

My mom never cared for chiropractors...not because she's ever gone to one, but the people she knows who have don't end up any better & are worse than when they started.

The failed medical industry is based on useless, dangerous surgeries that usually beget additional surgeries. Now THAT's a racket. If you feel the chiro is working and your doctor is forthright, keep going but try to work out a deal.

How would he even know if it's "working"; because he has less pain? That happens with natural healing, too. The most common chiro scenario is that someone strains or tears a muscle, can't move, has spasms, goes to a chiro, time passes, the muscle heals (which would also happen if the patient did nothing), the chiro takes the credit, and the patient is a paying disciple for life!

I've used chiropractors over the years, some were good, some not good to the point of being scary around my neck. My husband was helped greatly by one particular chiro who was a genius. But in no case have either of us gone with weekly/monthly treatments.
I've had great results from an acupuncturist for knee problem that no MD or other pro helped with. But also had zero results from same (good) TCM acupuncturist for other physical problems. Again no long term treatments.
We've had good results from MD's in various specialties and I also have had malpractice from several MD's causing more problems than I went in with.
The best results I've had are researching as much as possible, both the problem as well as the practitioner. No one cares about my health as much as I do. The person calling to schedule my appointment does not care about me, they care about their job and booking, booking, booking patients.
