How many ounces are in your cup?

I think everyone's limit is different. If you dont feel sick and dont have heart problems or kidney problems enjoy your 6 cups. Its a lot. They say you should have two. But when I am having coffee its a 3-4 cup intake for me. Which is a little high too. I get insomnia and have to cut back to two. Two feels like the healthy level but 3-4 is so much more fun. LOL

Heres a guide from the Mayo Clinic on that:

I've been a coffee hound my entire life - starting back when the old men in Little Italy used to give me cups of espresso when I was 4.

For the last 30 years or so I've averaged 2 POTS of coffee per day (12-cup pot). A few things, though - I make it weak (4 scoops per pot); use creme and sugar; do a lot of exercising and self-diagnosis and medication (Chinese medicine).

So far, no bad effects...although I wouldn't want to do a biopsy on my kidneys.

My coffee drinking varies but 6 cups isn't unusual for me. I think it depends on how you are feeling. I have a relative who drank coffee by the pot ful so strong you could stand a spoon up in the cup -- and he's in his 90's and still going strong. Of course he has help now and they don't let him have caffeine anymore but he still enjoys several cups of coffee a day.

Do you have a reason to be concerned about your coffee drinking? If you use alot of artificial sweeteners in your coffee, THAT may be something to be concerned about -- IMO!

Default on the contrary

theres actually nothing wrong with drinking that amount of coffee. the coffee itself is supposed to be good for your body they're saying, its the caffiene that you have to worry about. I was drinking the same amount and sometimes more, and eventually did get stomach aches as well as some anxiety. If you want the best of both worlds, try having a cup of decaf for every cup of regular!

There actually is..... unless it's decaf! Having too much caffeine is realy bad for you.
