Hello, I currently consume approximately 2,300 calories a day. Unfortunately I drink 6 glasses of Diet Coke also. I would like to loose some weight and would like to know if I started drinking Water in place of the Diet Coke would I notice a difference ? I am a 6 foot tall male 235 pounds. I would appreciate any helpful information you can give me! Thanks!! Arthur

There is some evidence that the CO2 in the diet drinks combine in some way with carbohydrates in the body to form fat. I didn't understand everything I read about all the chemistry involved, but it made sense. Water would be a much better choice.

If you are serious about loosing weight, you need to cut those calories down some more. If you could cut about 500 perday, you would probably lose about 1/2 lb per weeK. 250 per day, and lose about 1lb per month, which would be a good healthy slow loss.

Keep a diary of what you actually eat for a while....all the snacks, etc. It will help you see what you can cut.

No offense, that is a no-brainer in my book!! All the nasty stuff in the diet coke...shudder You might need to wean yourself off the DC. Even drinking some 100% fruit juices would be better. You might consider tea- there are all kinds of flavors where you don't even have to add sugar, and even decaf too. I say go for it! good luck

Avoid all sodas and fruit drinks as they are loaded with sugars and other chemicals. The only good fruit juices are at independent health stores. Do not drink tap water. Buy bottled water. In addition, as far as hygiene, buy Dr. Bonner bar soap, and organic shamppos with no chemicals.

Today I noticed I was out of bottled water. I had to take my 2 pills. Rather then take them with tap water I took my aspirin, and toprol XL to work and took them with our office water filter.

Im curious loose cannon......as you are terrified of Tap Water and yet drink from Plastic Containers as aren't you concerned about all the PCB's and Dioxins that leach out of them into the fluid.

Drop the diet coke...that is the worst think you can drink, besides alcohol!

Uhh, the only good fruit juices are at independant health stores? Since when? 100% fruit juice is 100% fruit juice, unless you're hung up on it being organic. And even regular chain grocery stores these days sell a few types of 100% organic fruit juice. I'll keep drinking my regular grocery store bought Tropicana, thanks.
