I'm curious as to how many on here need ''White Noise'' to sleep as i admit i need some form of soft noise to sleep as the Super Quiet bothers me as i hear every creak and sound like the clock ticking etc.. Ideally if i slept on a hammock with the wind blowing on me and hearing the wind gently blow would easily put me to sleep.

So over the years i always slept with the fan on me as the air feels good and the noise puts me to sleep but now it's getting too cold to use the fan as infact last night i woke up at 2.30 a.m. sleeping on top of my numb arm as i was freezing. Sometimes World or Celtic Music works but i still prefer to hear the hum of the fan.

I wonder if it's natural or not to need to hear some form of noise to fall asleep so are there others on here beside me who need some sort of noise to sleep or do you prefer total silence instead to sleep??

I have a hard time sleeping without a fan. When it turns cold, I simply turn the fan away from me so that it doesn't blow my way but I still hear the noise.

I also like the noise of a fan, because my husband snores and it drowns that out somewhat

Smile white noise

I have been married for 39 years and ever since the apartment days, we have used a floor fan. At first it was to drone out the neighbor's romantic antics. It then became our life. Both my married sons use them. It can be below freezing outside, and the fan is going. I recently went on a crusie and toted my little fan along plus my sound machine. If the electricity goes out I wake immediately....hooked!!

Thanks for your response Maia and Jude as i wondered if it was just me liking the fan. O.k. so you guys run it even when it's cold as i prefer also so you just turn it away from you correct ??

Since i live in the desert usually from May until now i run the fan not just for the noise but to feel the air as it's normally in the 90's when i hit the sack as the air feels good but now i miss the air hitting me so i assume it will take a few nites to re-adjust or do you just wrap up well and still let the air blow on you??

I usually just turn the fan around so that the air doesn't hit me but I still get the benefit of the noise. I guess that wasting electricity but I don't sleep well without that white noise. I've slept with a fan in my room my entire life and cold weather isn't going to take my fan away from me!
