Should I be concerned?

My daughter gave me her head cold. For the last 3 days i've had this awful post nasal drip that tastes bitter and sour and smells really bad? Also my jaw is killing me to the point where I can barely chew.

It doesn't seem to be a different color, but it tastes so bad.

Not sure if I have a fever, just feel really tired.

I don't think that will help me.

I just would like to get rid of this awful taste.

I've had a lot of sinus infections. CHEW GUM and drink TONS of water. If it doesn't go away in 5-7 days, visit your doctor. You may need an antibiotic.

Oil of oregano really helps. I take it every day to keep that stuff away. Use a Neti Pot, too.

I did see my doctor yesterday because the taste was unbearable. She gave me an RX and told me to wait until the end of the week to fill it. I've been drinking tons of water because i've been taking advil col & sinus and it's drying me out terribly.

I believe most sinus infections are viral, not bacterial, therefore, antibiotics don't work. Ask your doctor.....

Anti-inflammatories will help - they take down the swelling and soreness, and can help prevent the infection from getting worse.

I've had this get so bad the infection moved into the sub-skin between my eyebrows, I looked like a Klingon and had too have enormous doses of antibiotic in case it reached the meninges of the brain!!!

hope you feel better soon

Sounds like you have an infection--go to a doctor! That nasty smell is indicitive of infection!
It could have started from a virus or an allergy, but then progressed to something else...go see a professional!

Most start out viral. Some clear up on their own, some don't and turn into infection.

Believe me, I had chronic sinus infections for years. Tried NOT to go on antibiotics, but it would get worse and worse. Sometimes you could literally SEE it in my forehead (bumps)! Horrid headaches, among other nasty stuff I won't mention. I don't want to gross you all out!YUCK!

Grapefruit seed extract can help... it's antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal. One of my friends uses it in a neti pot, but I'm not that brave, so I just take it internally and it clears me right up. Works for yeast infections and other types of infections as well. Hope you're feeling better and can avoid the antibiotic!
