i am suffering as it get s colder outside... i get into a depressed mode. dont want to go outside... even if the sun is out.. esp fall after summer is over and it gets colder. anything below 70 is horrible.
i am trying to sell my home so we can move to florida. i love the hot and humid. it makes me so happy.
i feel so bad for the kids because i dont like to be outside unless its warm. daddy does the outdoor stuff when its colder.
i cant function. i cant get out of my own way. i need to be wrapped in a blanket with a heating pad and always near heat. we have a pellet stove, i stand and sit infront of it all winter. i even had it going in aug a couple times..
i try to keep warm by taking baths. sometimes 2 a day.
its so hard because i dont want to get up to do things when im cold. the kids need you constant and i just want to go hide and bundle up..
i tend to not even take my coat off when i get home for a while. i feel like a nut!
i do get hot in summer sometimes too but its rare.
it just seems as i get older this is worse. i have always been this way though.
does anyone suffer from weather disorder?

I HATE winter! I don't like the dreary days, or the cold, or the wet, and I hate being inside all the time.
One day, I'll move further south! (I don't know how folks live in Montana, or Maine, or any of those snowy, cold places!)

I had this problem previously when livng in COnnecticut, which is where I was born and raised. Four years ago we moved to Florida (about an hour south of Sarasota, actually!), and it all went away. Now this year we're back in CT and I can feel the anxiety and sadness of the winter months creeping in. Ugh. Trying to spend time outside each day to hopefully combat this!

hdzup, there are lamps you can buy in your local Home Depot or Lowe's. They simulate real sunlight.
Here is a link to several different types:

Since it doesn't appear that lack of sunlight is your main problem why not check into something that may be causing poor circulation....one symptom which is poor judgement of temperature.
Give a quick check online to see if you have any other common symptoms.
Also don't overlook anemia.

I'm the complete opposite, I love the winter and colder weather. I feel more lethargic in warm and humid weather, the brisk cool air in fall is invigorating and I am able to go for longer walks.
To put things in perspective, in summer when temps are above 70F I can do no more than 6-7 miles max on a hike. In winter I can do up to 20 miles.
