You'll get more mileage if you place the blade up from the pyramid's floor 1/3 the distance to the apex and position the lineal edges of the blade in a true North/South position.

If you do that with your head, it too will sharpen.

I heard once that mixing a little conditioner to the shave cream make beard softer and shave smoother, so now when i'm in the shower, I wash my hair and lather my face with shampoo before applying shave cream. I have done that for years and love the results...
Why not just use bar soap?

Are you addicted to marketing?

You could repackage the soap and call it shaving soap.

For the closest shave, I use an electric razor followed up by dry shaving with a pivoting triple blade thingy.

I've always figured the number of shaves you can get out of a disposable razor is directly related to the quality of the steel used in the ship that got scrapped to provide the raw material for the blade manufacturer! I presume some old, high quality armored U.s. Navy destroyer makes a lot better blades than a rust bucket Liberian freighter. Maybe that's why sometimes a cheap-o drugstore disposable will last for weeks and other times I'm lucky to get through 1 shave with one from the same bag!

As for shaving soap - buy a good brush, get a coffee cup, and you've got a place for all your old, little dinky pieces of bar soap and an inexhaustible supply of "shaving cream."

I would far sooner mow the grass than shave. However, everyone to his own. Sad to say I no longer have any grass to mow so I am going have to take up shaving for a pastime. I was thinking of one side one day and the other the next day.

I usually find my razor in the bathtub with a bunch of leg hair clogged in it, get frustrated and have irrational, misogynistic, possessive rages, resolve to change the blade, think about how expensive they are, decide to try it as-is and find myself satisfied with the performance.

If the razor is irritating your skin its time for a change. Apparently men need sharper blades than women because my wife will use the same blade for a year before she starts asking me to change it.

But if she uses mine, it immediately gets too dull to use.
