Just curious, I always have wondered how long you can use one for. No one has given me a definitive answer.

Instead of shaving creme, I hold a washcloth soaked in steaming hot water on my face to soften my beard. I shave my face only every other day and store my razor under a pyramid when it's not in use. I put a new blade in every 4 months. The razor blade companies don't don't think too highly of my strategy.

I use a new disposable every time. It seems like they make them so cheap that if I try to use it twice I end up with stubble.

I use mine until it hurts to shave. Meaning it is pulling the hair out instead of shaving it. Maybe a month.

Some stay sharper longer than others--even of the same brand! I keep mine until it stops doing the job, then I change it! There are factors involved in how long it lasts--if your hair is coarser than normal, if your skin is dirty, the water, the soap/lubricant....
Sometimes a cartidge will last 3 weeks, other times, I'll use it three times, and it's done!

Just started using a shave cream made with maca root or something. Makes beard very soft. Most comfortable shave I've ever had! Closer too. Before just used regular shave gel. I think this will make razors last longer. But I digress. Usually about 6 weeks. (if you get the expensive ones)

When you replace it depends on brand, type and your hair/use.

I clean (baby toothbrush)and oil (buzzer's oil for blades) my and my s.o. Mach3s. Doing that we can make one razor last 6 months or a longer if shave quality is not taken into consideration. I need to get new ones myself and I think I have had this blade for almost a year. I swear they seem to make the men's blades stronger or longer lasting.
Some disposables I cant even use. They just cut me me so for that one ZERO days. LOL
