I have discomfort in the lower right side ( looking down ) of groin area. There's pressure and knife poking feeling but no bulge? I have all the symptoms but no outer evidence that this would be the case. It's been going on for about 1 1/2 yrs with the symptoms getting more uncomfortable the last 3 months or so. Also on the right side lower abdomen I have a real nasty burning feeling that bugs me a lot through out the day, it's located where the "Apendix" is and that discomfort has also been there for awhile. I had a CTscan done last year and the only thing that showed up was abnormally large lymph nodes. Anyone have any similar experiences? Thanks for any responses!!!

I had a pulled groin muscle that gave symptoms similar to yours for a few weeks and then got better because I got medical treatment and rest.
I was sure I had a hernia due to the heavy lifting I was doing at my job at the time. It was just a pulled groin muscle.
Since you have had discomfort for a long period of time and it has increased in recent months I would strongly advise you to get a full battery of tests to determine the cause.
You should not put it off any longer. It might be something that can be corrected with medication or something that requires more extensive treatment. Either way, it is better to get it taken care of in the near future just for your own piece of mind.

Could be a bladder problem. See your urologist. Do you have frequent urination? Painful or burning urination? Do you eat a lot of acidic or spicy foods?? I know because I had this too. I had to get on a bland diet, no caffeine, etc. My urologist said my bladder's lining was slowly eroding and unless I helped to "heal" it I would be in pain constantly. He gave me some medication to stop the spasms in the bladder but then I developed this horrible heart attack like heart burn!! So I quit the meds and just follow a bland diet. Took care of the problem.

Hey thanks guys for your replies!!! My doctor thinks it has something to with constipation for right now. Constipation is one of the symptoms I have among others but he told me to take some colace to "loosen things up" and if things don't get worse come back in 3 weeks. I think I will be calling soon to make yet another appointment and hopefully this next appointment will have some progress. Thanks again for your thoughts!!!!

I did! It was a inguinal hernia and the surgeon could just barely feel coming down the testical canal. See a specialist ( Surgeon ) because a regular family doc may not pick up on it. Every other doctor I saw couldn't feel anything but this surgeon was able to. One other thing... they used mesh on my repair and I had some other discomfort going on for about a year because of the mesh, but now it is fine Other people that had a hernia repair recommend not using mesh and actually getting it directly repaired with stitches. I recommend you check into it to see what would be best for you. After getting the mesh I personally wish I would have gotten the repair stitched instead. It took care of all the symptoms though. Good luck to you!

hubby had the same thing about 3 years ago and had the mesh repair. It worked fine, but he developed another hernia about a year later, which had to be repaired. It was much more detailed, possibbly a birth defect. It was near his belly button. Now, guess what? He has a 3rd one. This, one the doctor is leaving alone. He has had so many surgeries in the past 3 years (2 very involved because of cancerous tumors) they have decided the new one really isn't going to cause any problems, it just looks strange.

They also have dissolving mesh that provides temporary support......it breaks down in your body after about a year.

I have a hiatal hernia and am going to get it repaired. I have heard too many bad things about the permanent mesh.......I will either go with just stitches or dissolving mesh.
