(Loved how you explained this stuff to your son!)
The poor kid. I found nude women pix in his room when he was a teen and cut out a picture of my mom's head from a photo and glued it on.

I can't believe it!!! I had written this long drawn out response to FL TN and when I went to post, darnnnnn thing just wiped me out! So here it goes again. I hope the first one doesn't end up in la la land in some male box.

Onward... as I was saying. (trying to remember here) It was so good before.

OK. Estrogen is produced by the ovaries. Estrogen regulates the libido, higher or lower, more or less, depending how you look at it. It also helps maintain the balance in your system and your metabolism and does some other important stuff (memory anyone??)
FL TN, why if they didn't remove your ovaries why are you taking Premarin?
I remember I was on 2 pills. One, progesterone, for 26 days out of the month, then because I still had all my insides, I took testosterone for the last 10 days of those 26 and I had a "false period" for 4 or 5 days. The testosterone (which is the male hormone and women also have it), has to do with muscle strength, erections and the hair on your body (beards, mustache) was to avoid uterine cancer which can happen when you take hormones but have not had a hysterectomy.

I didn't start taking the Premarin until I started menopause symptoms -- 10 years after my hysterectomy.

Ok, maybe you're a teensy bit mean too! He may never have a normal relationship now and it's all your fault!

I started when I was 12 and "officially" stopped at 47. I had been dwelling on it for several years. I kept getting pregnancy tests everytime I went 3 mths without but they couldn't confirm menopause until that hormone test came out positive and that only happens when you're finally there. Thank goodness the pregnancy one was always negative!

vpcats, I had the hormone test a year ago Christmas time, and she told me I'd probably be done having periods. Over a year ago, I'm still getting them. Sporadically, but they're still there. Interesting. Plus, I'm taking the estrogen every day, but the progesterone 12 days/month. No testosterone. Still have all my innards. Once again...everybody's different.
