I sleep for up to 15 hours on the weekends and for the weekdays? Well 5 to 6 hours because of school.

I try to get 6 but sometimes I get less.

It's strange. I am a night person. On a weekend day, I can go all morning and do nothing. But, as soon as it gets later (4pm-9ish) I feel like I want to do EVERYTHING. Clean, declutter, do work, etc.

Anyone else get these feelings? I would be so much more productive if I started much earlier and relax later.

I was wondering: For those of you who get less sleep than normal, what causes it? And, have you tried anything to remedy that with any success?

My mind tends to keep going and there is no way to turn it off. I toss and turn and, if I wake up, I stay awake.

There is a vitamin called GABA that's said to reduce 'mind chatter'.

Interesting. I did a search in eurekalert.org and found a number of beneficial aspects to GABA, but also found this:

"GABAergic drugs such as alcohol and benzodiazepines (some sleeping pills) have been used by a large number of individuals in our society and these drugs are expected to block stem cell proliferation," Bordey said. "Such an impact of these drugs on neurogenesis and brain function would be the next step to investigate."

The key may be moderation.

I've never had a problem with it nor heard of any.
Consider that source...it was one article written by mainstream medical doctors tying in GABA with drugs.

During the week I probably get around 7-7.5. Used to need less, but now I actually need more. 8 to 8.5 on a weeknight would be great! Already go to be around 9/9.30 and am up at 5.30 for work -- takes me awhile to fall asleep.

I can sleep 9 or 10 hours on the weekend....

Eh....5 to 6.
I tend to go to sleep late but I have to wake up early.
I tend to wake up around the same time, no matter what time I go to bed.
