I eat well, workout and am pretty healthy but I don't like coffee or iced tea, and to motivate me for my morning workout I drink a diet rc ( splenda) each day.

Some say because its the only thing in my stomach that makes it worse.

Others say the cans lead to Alzheimers.

Are there any reliable studies?

If they can market it to the masses it will always be "debate-able"

If you question its place..just leave it behind. Its not good for you.
Try a fizzy water with juice in it. That would be a better option. I like cranberry or to plop some strawberries mashed up in the fizz.

Is Slenda bad for you??? I switched about two years ago and only use that now. I love the new one with fiber in it. I haven't read studies on it and maybe I should. I thought it was the safest choice.
I gave us all soda a year ago and mostly drink water and a bit of iced tea..with the Splenda.

Yes..people have had bad reactions to it and its classified as a toxin if you break it down to its chemical name..I forget the details..But its not good for you. Weightloss wise it causes spikes in blood sugar that can stall loss and create cravings for more food than you are truely hungry for.
Just give it up. You will save a crap load of money if nothing else. That stuff is $$$!

Well;
It may have a good taste
But it's murder on your GI "tract
I just imagine being my stomach, and what would I want dumped into me first thing in the morning
especially after a night of rest,
something mild and refreshing and at the same time a pick me up
water with a splash of fresh lemon /peel is okay
RC more or less good for removing battery acid ;

I have heard it said that an apple is the greatest "get me going in the morning". I myself never have anything diet or artificial sweeteners...very bad.

The problem with starting off with an apple or juice is that the only time I can workout is right when I get up. Normal food gives way to upset stomachs while running etc

One can a day shouldn't harm you, as long as you stick to healthy habits in other areas. Don't worry about this one pleasure.
JMO, and I don't even drink pop.

If you need something to get you going, try green tea.

I wouldn't listen to the doomsayers, if you do not notice any unwanted effects from consuming Splenda, then you will probably be fine.

Or, you can just drink a regular RC or a cola beverage that contains real sugar.

.

Why? Because you personally dont believe it?

OP have juice if you cant do real food. And do water it down 50/50.
That shouldnt make you sick. If it does maybe you should go to the doctor for a check up.
(blood sugar issues) Might catch a pre-diabetic state before its a real problem.
