Try using a shot of rock and rye with your hot toddy.

Yep!

This reminds me of a joke - an old lady tries scotch for the first time in her life and says "oh, it tastes just like the medicine my husband takes every night!"

I have tried the whiskey before, and it did work. Although, this is the first I have heard of a Hot Toddy.
I am sick now, and will be making one in a few minutes!! I think I will try it with brandy first.

Reminds me of that old song.

"Hot, hot toddy, sure makes a body feel might nice".

LOL I am a big proponent of whiskey in all its forms. LOL

[quote=Ohiogirl81;6194588]Who needs drugs manufactured by profit-crazed pharmaceutical companies when you can take advantage of what Mother Nature has provided?

You have to show me where in "Mother Nature" you find Whiskey? Does it bubble up out the ground naturally? Whiskey in not a product of "Mother Nature". The ONLY way whiskey can be made is through a man-made proccess that turns the ingredients added together into an alcohol beverage. The only naturally occuring alcohol product is when fruit becomes over-ripe and then a natural fermentation takes place that results in alcohol. And this alcohol is no where near as potent as alcohol that is produce by man (including wine). I state this to say that to use whiskey or any other alcoholic beverage as a remedy to a medical condition is not a good idea. The cost of alcohol abuse and the uncountable tragedies it causes does not justify using it for medical use that have been proven to be unfounded and completely false. So be careful when you recommend the use of alcohol for anything. It is an evil product that has no positive uses in our society. Respectively submitted.

A shot of Sambuca for bronchitis. Working in an Italian restaurant, we couldn't be coughing so a shot of Sambuca was the cure.
