My mom has been suffering from this condition for a while. It is a very intense pain on her mouth that feels like electrical shocks. When they start she starts screaming and needs to take some strong pain medicine.

Gamma Ray treatment (which we will be doing in Miami in 2 weeks I hope) kills the nerve and supposedly elliminates the pain.

Has anyone heard about this condition? Also, has anyone heard of the Gamma Ray Knife surgery? Will appreciate any feedback on this painful condition.

Trigeminal neuralgia is also known as tic douleureux. It's not uncommon, but the treatment you mention is one with which I'm not familiar.
