Barley-Grass is one of the green grasses; it is the growing shoot from the barley plant. When harvested the grass is either carefully dried or juiced fresh. The dried grass is turned into powder or tablet form for commercial purposes.

Barley grass contains trace amounts of vitamins B12, B2, B3, C and E. It is high in minerals that are responsible for structural formation and metabolism in the body. Barley has served as a food staple in most cultures. The use of barley for food and medicinal purposes dates to antiquity. Agronomists place this ancient cereal grass as being cultivated as early as 7000 BC. Roman gladiators ate barley for strength and stamina.
