Men who drink about half a glass of wine a day over decades may outlive teetotalers by four years on average, a 40-year Dutch study shows.

But that's not a reason to start drinking, or to drink too much, the researchers say.

"Since alcohol consumption can be addictive, starting to drink alcohol because of its positive health benefits is not advised," says researcher Martinette Streppel in an American Heart Association news release.

This 40 year old dutch study was probably paid for by a wine makers consortium. And so was the new press release.

Grapes are sprayed with so much pesticides. Why do people think that it disappears before they drink the wine.

Yeah, but if you can't get them to quit for the day, then it's a problem called alcoholism. I love wine (that's all I drink when going out), but sometimes I have to watch it or I'll get drunk.

In very small amounts and not so often, it can be good for you...
