Default Sleep apnea/provigil

Has anyone ever used Provigil? It's a drug used to help keep alert during the day from the effects of sleep apnea?

My Mom takes it and it helps her stay awake during the day. She is 78.

Has she been taking it long? Does she take it everyday? I don't want to get hooked, but I think I love it.

sandikaye is on a distinguished road
I take Provigil every day and have been taking it for 2 years. What you want to know about it? It helps me stay awake but I could still go to sleep if I wanted to and I drink caffeinated coffee all day long too--trying to stay awake. In fact, I am very sleepy right now and I took Provigil only three hours ago.

i was having a hard time while working night shift ....i found the provigil (100mg) worked for a while but i soon developed a tolerance and would have needed to take 200mg. I couldn't afford it since i didn't have prescription coverage. It is (approx) $7 per 100mg.

What i found did work was taking trazadone ( a sleep aid). It helps me get into a deeper sleep and thereby i don't get as tired during work. It $20 a month.

I'm finding it does keep me alert during the day, but is affecting my sleep. I'm going to cut it back to 1/2 pill and see how that works. Has it affected your appetite at all?
