(Feb. 13) - An Indonesian known as "the Tree Man" had a ninth surgery Thursday to remove bark-like warts that grow all over his body, Agence France-Presse reported.
Dede Koswara, 38, was diagnosed by a U.S. dermatologist as having a genetic defect that prevents his body from containing the growth of warts caused by the human papilloma virus.
Thanks John, I've been wondering about DeDe since I watched the first episode on his condition.
Sad that this young man works in a "freak show" along with others that have medical conditions and cannot find or afford help. He mentioned in the first interview he wants to stop "working" in that show, but those are his friends and he needs to have an income to live. How very very sad that in this day and age people go to these things and stare, mock, and insult these fellow human beings.
Glad to have an update, I can only pray that a solution is found to provide this man a normal life.
