I know our health care is a disaster. There is so much fraud out there it isn't even funny. Each state has "extremely" different rates for insurance. And if you pay cash the doctors can't even give you a price because they charge different prices depending on your insurance company so they have no clue what to charge when you pay cash. It's ridiculous.

Now with all the health care problems and cost why don't we hear about "preventative" health care. I truly believe so many illnesses can be avoided through proper nutrition and exercise. I think Americans should get a bonus if they take care of themselves.

We love to blame all our troubles on others.

Health care is too individualized to be handled at the federal level. fit individuals who's health needs are unique.

Younglisa is absolutly right. We all have to take responsibility for our own health as much as possible. It would be helpful if our Govt would take more aggressive action on educating the general public on the importance of nutrition and lifestyle, and even provide some incentive for people to own up to their own respnsibility. The President's initiatives are hopeful, but I still think lacking in addressing ways to reduce the demand for health care. It really can be done.
