I was just wondering if anyone else here needs to improve there eating happens. I have a big sweet tooth and just love cookies, chocolates and chips. I also love pastry's

I have to say I was rather lazy this winter and didnt run, running alot more now but at 5'11 1/2" I got up to 190 lbs this winter when it was very cold and I had a major appetite and didnt want to run when it was sub-zero, usually I am around 180 pounds or so

I have been trying to eat more nuts then chips because nuts from fat and protein to fill me up for a longer period of time. I still love chips though but I try to have just a small bag of chips only (1-2 oz).

I also use to be eat alot more fruits and veggies then I do know. For some reason I crave fruits and veggies in the spring, summer and fall but during the cold Nebraska and North Dakotans ive been around the last 3 years I usually go for heavy meals over fruits and veggies.

I suffer from many of the same bad eating habits that you describe. I think part of the problem is that in order to eat the healthy stuff, like fruits and veggies, you need to shop for them regularly, and get them in small quantities, then make sure you eat them. If you "go big," so to speak, they will spoil, and not get eaten. I have a bad habit of doing this, so by the time I think about eating these things, they're past their prime, so I choose something else instead. The thing about chips, cookies, and other sweets, is that they will stay fresh until the package is open, and then they are just too easy to snack on. I have had a hard time staying in the habit of exercising, mostly due to the short days of winter, when I just want to stay inside. During the summer, I find it much easier to do things outdoors, and then I'm not tempted by the sweets that are stashed in the house. Plus, if I'm in the garden, and my fresh veggies are ripe, they are easy to get to, so I pick and eat them.

Me too!!! I want heavier, warm things in the winter, and tend (not always) to have a somewhat decreased appetite in the summer. Plus, I want more fruit, salad, etc. when it is hot outside.

I also have a huge sweet tooth. One thing that I have noticed helps with the sweet tooth, or eating because you are bored, unhappy, etc. is the following: buy the 100% cranberry juice (not from concetrate, no sugar added); Trader Joe's makes this if you have one. Anyway...mix it with about 8 parts water. Drink a glass down. That tart taste makes you (well me) not feel like having something sweet anymore, and it reduces my appetite. Plus, it is very good for you--flushes out toxins, etc. Try it and let me know if it helps you too.

My hubby eats the same crap I do, but he works out almost everyday. He has lost over 15 lbs. and is a delicious hunk of muscle. I think it took about 6 months or so of consistent exercise. Hopefully this will motivate you (thought it would motivate me, but it hasn't--now I just feel worse about myself).
