Hi. Im hoping someone might have some insight for me. I think i might have a bladder infection, possibly stones?
Last few days, I noticed i had to pee more frequently. No burn/pain really, but what started out as a slight pressure twinge at the end of when i went, has gotten quite painful. The only symptoms i have are a frequent need to go, this awful achy/crampy pain when i am finishing going, and sometimes, like theres a blockage, im doing going, then i shift or something, and i go some more. No burning at all, no pain in my kidneys, (ive had kidney stones, so i live in fear of that!!!) Ive been taking the Azo-gesic for the last 2 days, but I dont think theres any color change, and theres no ....oder. I have no health insurance (not til late june) so Im trying to avoid the Dr.
anyone have any thoughts/ideas/advice and yeah, if it gets worse, I'll bite the bullet and take that horrific ER fee (theres no clinics around where i live) but i know thats gonna take the $$ we have been setting aside to get our leaking roof fixed. arrraaugghh.
anyhow, any advice would sure be welcome!!!
TIA
Tiffany

You would probably be in a lot of pain if you had kidney stones, but it certainly could be a kidney or bladder infection. You usually feel like you need to go to the bathroom all the time but don't go that much, you may have low back pain, and may have a low-grade fever. Drink plenty of water and cranberry juice but if it continues you should see a doctor.

Actually within Bladder Infections if you have Bacterial Cystitis Cranbery Juice WITHOUT sugar (actually cranberry extract capsules or cranberry concentrate would be better than the juice) will help but if you have Interstitial Cystitis or Urethritis it won't help so much. But it won't hurt.

In all cases avoid acid forming foods including caffeine; tomatoes; cooked spinach; carbonated drinks; starches; sugars; dairy and refined foods. Eat plenty of leafy greensl whole grains and celery; cucumbers and melons. Take 800 IU Vit E daily and 25,000 IU Vit A and 3000 to 5000 Mgs Vit C with bioflavenoids daily. Enzymatic Therapy's Uva Ursi pills will help or drink Uva Ursi Tea.

This comes from Dr Linda Rector Paige's Book "Healthy Healing" that your local health food store probably has a copy of. she had other suggestions as well. I just listed the ones that applied to both possible condtions.

Her website is www.healthyhealing.com You might find the 'self-tests" she has on her site helpful.

Dr Michael Murray is also a wel lknown Naturopathic Doctor and author. This is what he recommends on his website Bladder Infection (Cystitis)

yeah, im pretty positive its not kidney stones, ive got a history of those fun little puppies! I can typically get through those til they get up to the 6mm size....those, i needed surgery. But the smaller ones, i down the lemon juice and pain pills and get through em. Not fun, but thankfully, not what Im feeling now...
Im absolutly gonna check out that website! both actually.
Thank you both again, very much, for your responses and help!
