Probiotics and Stomach Flu
I started taking Digestive Advantage IBS two days ago. I started a new job at a "big box" retail store working overnight on Saturday, so when I got off from work that Sunday morning, I went and got me some breakfast from McDonalds. I came home, ate breakfast, took my centrum multivitamin and the digestive advantage IBS capsule. About an hour and a half later, I went to sleep.
At 5pm, I awoke to a rumble in my stomach and from that point forward, I was very, very ill with the stomach flu with lots of nausea, diarrhea, cramps, aches, pains, the whole gamut. I was so sick I had to call off from work.
It's now Monday mid morning and I'm feeling much better though not totally out of the woods yet. I've been taking Pepto Bismal, Emetrol for nausea, Immodium, and Extra strength Tylenol.
I would like to continue taking Digestive Advantage IBS but I'm scared to death that I may have a relapse. Is there a correlation between stomach flu and those probiotics?

If you are taking Digestive Advantage IBS, and you have problems with IBS, you probably should avoid the McBreakfasts. Have you tried NOT taking the supplement and NOT eating greasy, carb-rich foods?
It just doesn't make any sense to me to take a supplement for digestive health while noshing on the McMuffins, and then be confused about why you have massive digestive upset. (I mean, I love McMuffins too but maybe you should lay off )
Sometimes when starting pro-biotics people will have stomach upset if you're system isn't used to it and has a lot to clear out, so it should get better.

If it is a quality probiotic there should be no problem. (I'd save your money on the CENTRUM by the way. It is a complete waste and does not have enough of any of the vitamins you need to be worth the money.)
For ANY Flu, Bacterial Infection, Fungal infection get a good quality Colloidal Silver. Sovereign Silver is your first choice and Futurebiotics is the second choice. These WORK and kill all of the above. You can take double the suggeted dose for a therapeutic dose. It tastes like water and you can even use it externally ---even put drops in your eyes to get rid of eye infections. You'll need to get to a QUALITY health food store to get them. I don't believe Walmart or GNC carries them.
Another thing you can take is Slippery Elm whenever you have a digestive problem including vomiting; loose bowels, gas or whatever. It helps to nomalize the digestive tract.
Another contributing factor could be that you have a major food sensitivity to perhaps cheese or white flour products (if you had a breakfast sandwich), due to eating too much of these things over the years. Do you crave dairy products? Do you crave starches? if the answer is "yes" your body may finally be reacting to the fact that you have eaten way too much and need to cut them out for a while while your body rebuilds its immune system without having to deal with digesting those foods. It may take 3 months or more before you can reintroduce those foods back in to your diet but after your immune system and digestive system is healed, you'll be able to handle those foods.
Whatever foods you CRAVE are the ones doing the MOST damage and are the ones you need to cut out of your diet for a while.

I have tried to take quality probiotics on several occasions, and I have also tried to eat Activia. All make me sick as you have described. It was not the flu.

Do not listen to this! The only thing colloidal silver will do is turn your skin blue, permanently! There is no medical evidence that it does anything.

I don't understand why the OP would be taking ANY supplements or medications until they get their diet in order. If it was just random bout of nausea, after eating a greasy breakfast, I also don't understand why they think it's the probiotics doing the harm rather than the food.
Maybe they had food poisoning. Maybe their diet is terrible. Who knows?
