Although no one knows the exact cause of autoimmune diseases most have an inflammatory nature to them and so here's a study out of the University of Hong Kong showing that Ginseng with it's certain compounds or Ginsenosides inhibit the expression of the inflammatory gene CXCL-10 which may cause the Immunoglobulins (antibodies) to self attack.

Story for those interested.

I've been a BIG fan of (Asian) ginseng for about 15 years. It's so good for so many things.

I have an autoimmune disease and would love to reap the rewards of ginseng but am also on Coumadin for my bilateral lung blood clots and ginseng is very much counter-indicated for people on blood thinners.

As a side note, my grandfather used to dig ginseng up and sell it. Good memories.
