4AM??? it's only 9:30 here. There's that much of a time zone difference between Oregon and N.C. ???
I took Lunesta before........it was like taking an aspirin.......zilch-nothing!!
Doctor gave me Halcion years back and I heard it was strong--again---nothing.

I woke up at 2:30, went to bed at 10pm, fell asleep rather quickly which is not like me. Woke up and I had no electricity. Now I can not go back to sleep. I am looking into Valerian, Lavender and other essential oils. I didn't know about calcium/mag. I tried melatonin years ago, maybe I will give it another shot also.

Until I drink some coffee.....I find this to make me feel a wee bit cranky.
But, after the coffee, I feel great and rested.

I agree and it has no bad side efects and can be taken every nite; if you want. Works great for me;for my wife she takes half a dose because she would sleep half the next day if she took the full dose. i think the liquid works fastest also.

Along with all of these suggestions, my suggestion would be sleepy time tea, it helps me sleep longer and deeper. Also, you might want to see if you can get to the root of the problem, ie.. horones, excessive caffiene intake, thyroid, ....Also many, many people are vit d defec. due to working inside, if you try d make sure to get d-3. Hope this helps!

I've always just been a night owl. Love the night time. However..........it is useful to be able to sleep and most of my life it's been a struggle to sleep at night. I can sleep like the dead during the day.
When I must-absolutely must get sleep at night, I'll take Benadryl.
