Bells Palsy
Anyone have any extra info on Bells Palsy..
I was just diagnosed with it -- since the left side of my face will not operate anymore
but every'thing i've read so far seems to indicate that i have a decent chance of recovering 100% over time.
i'm on steroids right now (not the roger clemens kind) and was given facial exercises and artificial tears since my eye wont close on its own.

My niece had that or something similar when she was about 2 or 3, recovered 100% and quite quickly. Frankly I had forgotten about it. Good Luck!

so sorry to read of your diagnosis, moving... we'll try to keep you as upbeat as possible.
I was reading that victims of lyme disease suffer with bells palsy...had you ever been bitten by a tick?

I have two friends who have it, and both recovered 100%. Both of them were in their early-twenties when they had it/recovered.
You should be ok, I think.

Usually caused by nerve damage caused by a bad E.N.T. infection. Once the steroid stops the swelling of the infection the nerves will begin to operate normally and the muscles will tighten up again. Meantime..... careful of those hot liquids !

Hope this brings you some good news: I've had 3 friends who had Bells Palsy and all recovered over a few months. I was told that extreme stress also helps to bring this on and at least 2 of these friends were undergoing some major stress at the time.
So I hope you can stay calm and that nobody gives you grief while you're recovering!! Best wishes.

makes sense.. i've had two major rollout projects over the last month and my girlfriend is moving out -- pretty stressful i'd say.. lol
i also recently had the flu -- and the doctor thinks the air conditioning vents were dirty -- and that possibly my immune system wasnt 100% yet.
