I'm 55 and it's been rough here and there the last few years, especially with the hot flashes. I have friends who are still having them sometimes after ten years!
but as previously mentioned, everyone's different and maybe, hopefully, you'll be lucky!
Personally, find they come on when I'm eating or drinking more junk-like foods. Chocolate, red wine, spicey foods and so on .. but one must prioritize!
You almost become accustomed to being drenched in sweat .. from head to toe .. in the presence of others in a matter of seconds.
Hey, this is what I always look like! .. is it hot in here, or just me?!!

Though everyone's menopause is different--some mild, some bothersome, what awaits on the other side is completely marvelous--at least for me.
After all the sleepless nights, the horrid insomnia, the feeling of little bugs crawling under my skin (caused by estrogen deprivation), the mood swings, and the flooding and the spotting--comes the glory!
Post-menopause is quite wonderful! I've never felt more in tune with my self, more positive, more confident or more creative.
The end of monthly bloating and moods is quite freeing...this new stage of life is under-reported, I think. Just you wait--it well-worth all the crap it takes to get here.
Margaret Mead called this feeling of well-being "Post-menopausal zest" and for a while I thought she was full of hooey, but you know something? She was right!

Let's hope.
How many years did everyone go through this? 10 or so?

Maybe two years for me, with one year being quite difficult with the insomnia...but everyone's different...I did no HRT, but did take some herbal supplements such as black cohosh and others...mostly what I really wanted to do was go off to a quiet place and be by myself, but that wasn't possible...

Thanks for that LittleDolphin .. nice to know there's light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak!
In fact, I think I may have felt that euphoria for about a month a few months back .. just couldn't believe how great I felt. So content and satisfied .. and happy, lol. .. but then it vanished!
I haven't heard this before .. so it's nice to be enlightened and have something to look forward to!

Yes, it's interesting that there's lots of discussion on the challenges of menopause, but precious little on the other side of being post-menopausal...maybe this sense of well-being doesn't call for any medication and so there's no money to be made on us??
Not that every day post-menopausal is euphoric, there are still life's daily challenges to deal with, but I've sure found the moderation of the highs and lows caused by fluctuating hormones makes for a more joyful life.
This voyage also finds me more interested in spiritual matters, giving back more to the community and taking better care of my health through yoga, exercise and better nutrition...
Hope this is so for everyone else...more contentment, more wisdom, more peace....

I think euphoric was perhaps the wrong adjective used in my discription above, more a feeling of being at peace is more like it, .. more content as you have discribed.

I was completely through menopause at 43..No crazy spells, no HRT, only symptom was the profuse face sweating which did embarrass me at times ..
I have read that the later one begins menstruation the sooner menopause sets in..I was 16 when I began..Had 4 healthy babys between the age of 22 and 26 and have never had so much as a yeast infection..I am 67 now..
I hope yours is as unnoticeable as mine was
