If the nail is really dark down by the cuticle,you will probably lose it but you will see it grow out just fine. It is possible it may come off if it starts getting loose from the bed.Depends on how dark it is, just wait and see. OW wee, poor baby!!

my toe nail fell off as a child due to injury it was kinda gross lol but it didn't look too bad just like cracked kinda skin. I did see a dr and she put me on antibiotics tho you are at risk for infection.
I hit my little toe on a bedpost several years ago. Oh, it hurt like h*ll! The toe was red and purple and blue. The nail fell off about two weeks later, and it didn't even hurt like I thought it might.
The nail did grow back.
