So my stomach is really hurting & my period was almost 3 weeks ago...but it feels like I have cramps & I don't understand why I'm having these pains...can anyone help?

Could be any number of things. Call your doctor and have your symptoms checked out.

I have had this issue for about a year now. Basically, I can have cramps whenever, especially at night. Everything else is completely normal. When I brought it up with my doctor she didn't seem to think anything of it, and my last pap was normal.

It kind of weirds me out, though. I've moved, so I am looking for a new doctor, so maybe I will get some actual answers when I go for my annual in a few months. If anyone else has gotten some actual medical advice about this, it would be good to hear.

Not per se, but irregular periods could be. So cramps 3 wks later mght make sense in that case.

You could be having ovarian pain because of ovulation or a cyst. If you are really hurting badly you should see your physician.

When you are ovulationg you can feel cramps. Ovulation cramps occur in many women who are in the ovulation process, but it is a common and harmless condition.

Right as ovulation occurs, the developing follicle stretches the ovary, which then releases the egg along with a small amount of fluid into the abdomen.The egg travels through the fallopian tube, but the fluid is still left in the abdomen.

The remaining fluid causes ovulation cramps, because it can often irritate the lining of the pelvis. The stretching of the ovary can also cause some ovulation cramps, feeling like the ones you might have during menstruation.
