I was in the hot tub at our rec center today, after water walking for about an hour; some guy was telling me that coconut oil cream will help with knee pain and swelling; have anyone heard this before and have you tried it? My knee replacement went very well according the the doctor, the pT and everyone else who has had it prior to me, but of, after 8 weeks it still hurts some, especially at night, I would love to find something, non medical that might help.

Not sure why coconut oil would work on pain - it's OIL

There's a great prescription gel I like - but for OTC have you tried the rubs?

thanks, that is pretty much what I wanted to know. I just need something to help at night. My new knee is working great except when I try to sleep, then there is just enough pain to make sleeping a little rough.

I did find a lot of referances to coconut oil in craam form and pain, but then just try and bring the info up: not!!!!
