Has anyone here ever had this symptom? DH told me today that sometimes on the eliptical at the gym he will start to get a burning sensation in his chest when he really gets going at a faster rate. He say it is NOT pain and NOT heartburn. He has been working out at the gym for almost 3 years without this problem. It goes away as soon as he stops and he doesn't have the same problem on the treadmill or when we go for bike rides or when he engages in other stenuous activities. He was also recently diagnosed with GERD and hiatal hernia, for which he has been taking generic prilosec for 9 months. He does intend to mention it to the doctor at his regular check up next month, but I was wondering if anyone else has ever had anything like this. Should he call the doctor sooner?

Thanks!

Nancy

Does he actually know what angina feels like? That's what my guesstimate would be.

I too think it is angina. He should consult with his doctor before continuing this - it is not like the burn you get when you lift weights. It is not a good thing.
