I have a callous growing under my big toe nail. Everyone tells me it's an ingrown nail, but it's not - there is no part of the nail under the skin. Every other week I have to cut out this callous or it really makes my toe hurt, it pushes against the nail. How can I get rid of it for good? I am not familiar with OTC products for this. Thank you....
If you do want to see a doctor, a podiatrist would be appropriate. I had several toe nails taken off permanently, for another reason, and the podiatrists do that every week, if not every few days. I don't know if dermatologists have that much experience in it.
