Good luck, sunnyhelena. I've been on HRT for a while now (a little over a year) and, I'm sorry, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm a whole different person than I was before. I was getting absolutely no sleep at all, thanks to hot flashes. If something would happen on tv like the tsunami, I would just weep over it.

This past winter, what with the move and the hubby's depression and everything going on at work, I went onto happy pills (effexor) and that helps. Once we get down to FL and all this is behind me, I'm sure I'll be able to get off them.

Let us know how you do, ok? We're with ya, girl.

What's the problem SH; is it depression or anxiety? I can't tell from your post.

A combination- i guess. It always gets worse in the summer. I dont need HRT at this point-lol.

I wake up stressed and drained. Effexor has helped but I am afraid it takes too long to kick in.....

I'm sorry to hear that. Just hang in there until your Dr. appointment. I too have felt these symptoms and it's stress related (in my case). A little drink or two in the evening doesn't hurt every once in awhile. Have you tried exercise? I find that it helps alot, although I don't always follow my own medicine. I find that when I work outside on the weekends I usually feel much better. Also, I'm told that exercise increases certain endorphines that promote a better sense of well being.

You have a lot going on in your life right now. Don't forget to take some "me time" once in a while. It will do wonders for you.

Getting off effexor is VERY hard. Google it you'll see. It took me days..I went through panic attacks, brain fog, etc. Talk to your doctor about it. He will probably lower the dose slowly. I went off it cold turkey...do not recommend it.

Good luck Sunny- I truly hope you feel better. I took St. Johns Worts about 10 years ago- did it help? Not really.

I myself lately am feeling very uneasy- having some panic attacks, anxiety attacks- Dr. Upped my buspirone from 30 to 35 mg a day- splitting tablets. GAD is a legitimate disability by the way.

Many stressful things for me- I would not want to know where I would be without the Meds- Meltdown city.

ok its near 9PM going to swallow my tablet- good night SH
