1 in 70 New Yorkers
1 in 40 African Americans.
1 in 25 men living in Manhattan.
1 in 12 black men age 40-49 years.
1 in 10 men who have sex with men.
1 in 8 injection drug users.
1 in 5 black men age 40-49 in Manhattan.
1 in 4 men who have sex with men in Chelsea.

That seems WAY to high. Plus, this website claims NYC has the most hiv but another website says DC's hiv rate is twice as high as NYC, so idk. Anyway, what do you think?

Being a statistic myself since 1995, I'd say the numbers are accurate.

What is the web site and who is behind it ? Is it controlled by Rupert Murdoch or someone else with an agenda?
Some of the numbers sound believable to me but some don't so I don't know whether it's all true or only 1/2 truths which is a frequent tactic in deception.
Everywhere else I have ever seen HIV statistics has said that both D.C. and SF have higher rates than NYC so it makes me suspect all of the figures.

I have to say I don't get the last bit of the men who have sex with men in Chelsea. What's that about?

Right. It's one of the things that led me to wonder who published these "statistics",if that's what they are and why.I reeks of an agenda and may be bogus.
What is the site? I,for one, would like to see it and evaluate it before accepting or speculating on the meaning of such numbers.

Miami is # 1.New Orleans #2,Baton Rouge 3rd,D.C. 4th and Baltimore 5th.

24 cases per 100,000 people is nothing like 1 per 70. That seems awfully high.

Mod cut: TOS violationThese drugs extend life expectancy.

HIV patient's who take the drug cocktail are living close to normal lives. YES CLOSE to normal (i can argue even normal lives) . HIV does not mean a death sentence anymore. VIRAL load is usually undetectable when they take the drugs . CD4 count stays way above 200.

There may have severe side effects, but an ID specialist can prescribed you a different mix to try to lessen the side effects.

You are wrong, stop spreading complete Mod cut: language
