I suffer from sleep apnea, so the more sleep I get the better off I am. I usually fall asleep within 5 minutes of my head hitting the pillow, then I'm literally DEAD for the next 7 hours. I never wake up in the middle of the night, and sometimes it even takes me an hour to hear the alarm clock--set on high! I'm so greatful to not have sleep problems.

I rarely can sleep more than 8 even in the weekends. From M-F usually is 6 or 7.

I'll go first.

Seven.

I cannot function on less than 5 and my *perfect* number is 10. On weekends I will often sleep 10-12 hours.

How about you?

My wife goes to sleep around 8:30pm and gets up around 5:30am, about 10 hours sleep. I go to sleep around 1am and get up around 8am, about 7 hours sleep.

I guess each person is different, and each needs different sleep patterns.

Before kids I got about 9, I swore I couldn't get less. Then I had kids and if I get 5 its a miracle...and that usually is in 2-3 hr increments. If I get more than 5 or 6 max I am really groggy. Guess needing less comes from older age (Im in my mid thirties).
