Biomet system for rapid bone growth:

I was fitted with a Biomet system during surgery this week, and canít seem to find many people who have had the system implanted into the damaged area. I had a broken shoulder which after 4 months was still not healing and had significant bone fragments from the shattered clavicle. They put the bone together with a steel plate and eight screws, than did a bone graft with my broken bones and donor bones wired in to the natural bone shape. A bone mix was used to fill in the holes. The part I canít fine is the electrical surge system which is implanted in the muscle with wire leading into the areas needing rapid bone growth. It is called an OsteoGen-20/m by Biomet. Have any of you used it or heard how effective they are?

I have seen great results with electrical bone stimulation both implantable as in your case as well as the external pulsed version which we routinely incorporate in casts.

Best of luck to you in healing this fracture.
