I know you didn't ask me, but I've been taking Yaz for about a year and have been really happy with it. My side effects have been almost ideal and the opposite of what you'd expect (I lost weight, boobs grew a little, lessened my monthly migraines, drastically helped with cramps and my period). As far as sex drive there may have been a slight difference, but we're talking about going from "I need something now" to "it'd be nice, but not necessary", which was actually helpful since I'm single.

Just talk to your doctor/gyno about the options out there. Mine laid out everything available and then gave her recommendations and reasons why. My roommate is on Loestrin Lo and loves it. My mother used Orthotricycline Low and was also happy (though this was for her menopause symptoms). Really the side effects vary from woman-to-woman, so it's hard to tell what will happen until you take it. Learn the side effects (both you and your guy), and keep an eye out for warning signs.

Eh, if they're such idiots, I can always go to Planned Parenthood.

I'm on Loestrin also and it's been great. I've had absolutely no side effects.

Has anyone tried this new-fangled female condom that's come (back) on the scene? I think it would be weird.

Yeah right. You use abstinence as a result of your looks. HAHA! Totally kidding, just returning the favor from one of your previous jabs.

With that attitude you won't have to worry about using birth control.

Mmmm...my main concern about any hormonal birth control is weight gain. Since everyone is different, there's really no way to tell. And once you gain anything, it's so hard to lose. I will look into what you guys have mentioned, thanks.

I imagine that if you work out and don't gorge yourself, even if you are one of the unluckies who might gain, you should be able to control it.
