Can anyone recommend a good and accurate blood pressure monitor?
A local Walmart may offer a ReliOn manual blood pressure monitor (aneroid sphygmomanometer) for under $20. Keep it simple . . the calibration of digital models is always suspect!
I have an Omron. It's very accurate. I've taken it to my doctor's office, and the readings were nearly identical.
Mine is the arm cuff, and automatic inflate. Had it about 10 years, works as well as it did on Day 1. About the only thing I've had to do is change the batteries once in a while.
I would NEVER buy another Omron. I have the Omron Hem-711acn and also the Panasonic EW3109. The Omron reads 20 systolic points higher than the Panasonic. I took them both to the doctor's office to get an accurate reading. The Omron read 20 points higher than the doctor's reading and the Panasonic gave the same reading within 2 points.

My Omron HEM-412C, very cheap, has been reliable for almost ten years, and I don't think I've even changed the batteries. I pump it manually with a rubber bulb, and the battery only prints the LCD display.
