Ok, so how do you use it? Drink it, soak in it, paint it on?

It was stated in a previous post: soak the affected part (toes or fingers) in a bowl of it (i.e., while you're sitting watching t.v., on the computer, whatever) - try to do it at least 15-20 mins. or so and if you can more than 1x day, great.

You're probably suffering from toenail fungus, and according to some of my friends, vicks vapor rub doesn't work in such condition. Better stick with homemade remedies like crushed oregano and tea tree oil, thyme and grapefruit extract, and combine it with an over the counter topical cream such as ZeroFungus. Also, when dealing with nail fungus, you should take the same precautions as you would when you have athlete's foot. You must observe good foot hygiene that includes drying your feet well before wearing shoes, avoid wearing the same socks two days in a row, and wear the right footwear in public shower rooms and gyms.

My son developed what used to be called trench foot.........I hunted high and low, and finally found a small pharmacy that was willing to sell me some potassium permanganate....comes in a fine powder...quarter of a teaspoon mixed in warm water...turns water purple....soak foot, repeat a couple times....problem solved.....pharmacist said he hasn't had a call for it in many, many years.....works great though!

I'm caught in a bind----I've had nail fungus for years---both toenail and fingernail. I also have psoraisis. Ok, the docs did give me an RX for penlac, cleared it right up, but have to keep using it. Ok, they do a culture, then don't find any fungus, so refuse to prescribe any more penlac (hey, look, its just a brush on laquer, like nail polish, few side effects)

Well, they keep saying its psoraisis, not fungus, because I have psoraisis. Look, the reason the fungus culture comes back negative is because if I've used any anti fungal cream, anything, even OTC, for the past several months, it will come out with the scrapings and comprimise the culture, resulting in a false negative. Meanwhile, my nails are completely gone, gross, classic fungus. Seems the only alternative I have is to simply stop using any antifungal creams for 3-6 months then get another culture, see, look doc, it really, really is a fungus so gimme fungus cream!

Also, please explain, doc, why it responds to fungus creams? I managed to get some Penlac, cleared it right up, see, that's why you don't see anything in the culture? Or, if it is psoraisis, then why isn't it responding to all the psoraisis meds I use?

I was thinking of perhaps finding a Canadain pharmacy, anyone know how they work? Or just a US online pharmacy, you have to have a valid RX, usually you can do that online, just fill out a questionairre, hey, I can send them pictures of my nails, look, if that isn't fungus, I don't know what is! Really, I'm desperate, its a social thing. if nails weren't so important, why do we have all those nail salons? I can't wear sandals in the summer, and people shy away from me when they see my grungy nails, won't eat food I've prepared or handled (although I'm probably more hygenic than most), I can't say I blame them, it does look downright nasty.............

I didn't read all of the posts so perhaps someone mentioned tea tree oil.
It's a great topical anti-fungus.
You'd have to apply it to your toenails and leave your feet free of socks and shoes while it absorbs.
Desert Essence is the brand that i like.

Well, this might sound sorta gross, but I swear it works like a Champ.

Simply pee on your affected toes while in the privacy of your own shower. The uric acid wipes out the alkaline pH that the fungus among us needs to survive.

Or apply your urin in any other way to your toes you see fit. Peeing in a vial and then applying the uring with a Q-tip is also good. I'm a runner so my toes have been nasty for a long time; this really works!

But whatver ya do: don't get those prescription pills for fungus eradication; the side effects are absolutely terrible!
