Bloody December
Its December and once again East Asia becomes a throbbing wound in the world's side. What is it that makes the East Asian Culture so ready for bloodshed this time of year. History seems to renew itself every December with a catastrophic potential seemingly always rising this time of year in the far east. Can we side step it one more time maybe this year or will there be a repeat of several times in the past.

Agree with jtur88, what bloodbath???
Lots of the usual hot air, posturing and threats but no blood. Please show us Norm Barnes the "throbbing wound" that will cause this miserable time

"Throbbing wound" is the porn approach to current events, beloved of Rupert Murdoch rags and a whole host of foaming at the mouth pop pundits. It is titillation and entertainment.

I thought this might be about the battle of the bulge or Napoleon's campaign in Russia.

Yes.
It's a concern.
But hardly a throbbing wound. And nothing particularly new from North Korea. Lots of sabre-rattling, the occasional lashing out which kills, what, four people? (in the case of the recent shelling)
North Korea is good at getting attention. And it desperately wants people like you to believe that the Korean peninsula hangs on the precipice of disaster. But North Korea seems to like... well, existing. So don't count on it actually implementing that disaster any time soon.
Regimes that wants to sow the end of their own existences are few and far between.
Did you not ever notice that despite the fact that North Korea is constantly talking about how the peninsula is on the verge of war, that rivers of blood will flow, that the entire land will be ravaged... this never happens?
There's nothing to stop North Korea from unleashing an enormous barrage of artillery at Seoul. Except, of course, for the fact that Pyongyang seems to prefer not to be bombed and/or invaded.
Did you not ever notice that this deterrence has been working for... oh, the last 57 years?
