^ One thing you'll notice about Australia. Although not a very religious country now, is the abundance of churches. There are many churches of all types. The thing is, older churches tend to be attended more by old people. The young people tend to be attracted to vibrant, active churches. Older people born prior to 1940 or so seem decidedly more religious here.
It's probably just a case of the past blending together, but to me anything from the 1930s through the mid 1960s has a similar old fashioned vibe to it. I wonder if in the future people will think today seems similar to the 1980s or something.
