Have you thought of some of the things, once commonplace things now known to be a menace? I will skip drugs or materials such as asbestos, too many of those. Examples:

Radium watches
Carbon Tetrachloride cleaners
Shoe Store fluoroscopes
Lawn Darts

I also wonder if in the future tanning beds will be considered barbarous relics.

where did all these peanut (and other) allergies come from?

Creepy Crawlers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Because nothing says 'Great Toy for Kids!' like a hot-plate that heats metal molds to the point where they sizzle when you finish the process by plunging them into water.

Tapwater.

Food without a best-by date.

Containers without terrorist-proof caps.

Electrical plugs with both blades the same size.

Soft drinks containing Coca and Cola.

Sugar.

Sunshine.

Satanic/Masonic/Communist dollar bills that did not say "In God We Trust" on them .

Half-dollar coins and $1000 bills.

Burning yard-leaves in the fall.

Doctor's house calls.

Stay at home moms.

Biodegradable paper bags.

Clothes lines.

Things that don't beep.

Human beings answering the phone.

Okay, here I have to say a Ford n-series tractor (1939-1952). A lot of people, both in the tractors' early days and even now, have have died or been seriously hurt misusing these almost indestructible tractors. These tractors have no roll over protection and you've never been thrilled until you shred down a fence post because you didn't have an aftermarket overrunning clutch on the PTO.

As an adult I'd love to have a creepy crawlers set. Those were fun.

Now for the biological ones, a nice hot plate sounds real good.
