No, the worst thing that blacks did was buy into the notion that the vote counts and that other people from either major or minor parties can change the current predicament. I'm a strong proponent of self determination and cooperative economics amongst black people.
If reparations are given to African Americans, it should be given to the survivors of the Jim Crow. There are no survivors of chattel slavery alive. A better case of reparations could be made for Jim Crow.
An apology for Jim Crow would be nice though.
And socioeconomics and classism should be addressed.

And many in the black community are allied with Democrats and liberals, even though many blacks hold conservative views on many aspects. But anyway think about it. Many blacks are dependent on white voices and people to carry out there causes. For example, Tim Wise who is an opportunist and possible undercover privileged white supremacist. The point is, why are ppl listening to Tim Wise, but meanwhile ppl don't validate or hear directly from blacks and ppl of color speaking out about race work and fighting racism. Tim Wise dumbass made racist and insulting remarks in analogies and examples using the Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman case.
In addition, it was white liberals backing and controlling and telling blacks what to do and sympathize for Trayvon Martin and protesting to the streets and all that mumbo jumbo.
I'm also pretty sure that it is not blacks giving Al Sharpton his own platform and talk shows and news shows that he hosts on MSNBC for example. I'm also sure that Melissa Harris Perry didn't have her show given to her by black people. It was all of the mainstream white liberal media pulling the strings and blacks are just the bait and puppets. Meanwhile, the whites are neglecting the injustices and violence committed in black communities by other blacks and the whites don't regard it as newsworthy.
Ultimately the liberals and conservatives and Democrats and Republicans are just two sides of the same coin working with each othe behind the scenes. It's all bull****.
They need to eliminate all political parties and demarcations and focus on implementing progression and change and helping and improving the people and society for the better.
In addition in the USA ppl seem to focus too much or so much on race but overlook classism and social class and socioeconomics and the true needs of ppl of all races in the USA. It's all about money. Money talks and bull**** talks. That's what ppl need to address.

Actually if anyone is making revisionist history claims, that would be you dear. If you want to find the culprit of and for slavery that believed that Africans were inferior and/or subhuman, you need to call out the Arabs that promulgated and were behind the worldwide massive slave trade of blacks and Africans worldwide. The Arab slave trade is the big elephant and culprit in the room. The Arabs and their Muslim allies came up with the concept of using blacks and Africans as a source of labor and viewed blacks as inferior and below and underneath.
They transported these ideas to the Iberian Peninsula and other Europeans followed suit. IJS. Arabs even worked in cooperation with and in collusion with Europeans in trading and importing and exporting and exploiting Africans during the Transatlantic slave trade.
I don't think America is haunted by slavery.
Its the aftermath that still haunts America,esp Jim Crow laws. I'm sure black Americans would be on almost equal income levels with whites had they been allowed to participate economically and socially in 1865.

I stated facts. You can make a false claims and make revisionist history claims all you want which you are doing right now, but it won't change the fact that I stated truth and facts. Slavery was based on the mother and her womb. You could only be a slave if your mother was a slave. That's how it worked. It was illegal to enslave a person on the basis of their race. It was determined that enslavement would be carried thru the maternal ancestor.

The jews were also middlemen, please let's not leave out their role in this either.
Also, there is no way either the Arabs, jews or europeans could have captured 60 million enslaved africans without the help of other africans on the continent. They are just as culpable, if not moreso.
Too bad, the europeans did their usual backstabbing and turned on them too towards the end of the slave trade through forced colonization.
Europeans brought the whip, the bible, some shoe polish and a bag of beans throughout every beautiful place where they did not belong and destroyed it from the inside.
To a degree it is indentured servitude, but I'm blessed with a very good job and the ability to pay off my debt while continuing to save.
