So we get credit for one out of three, the last one? In the spring of 1945, after Georgi Zhukov's savages got tired of raping every German woman they could find, after regrouping and marching west again, the Red Army would have been on the Channel beaches by mid summer. Without US forces to check them, the Russians would have rolled easily. Monty and his boys would have been too busy sipping tea to offer more than token resistence.
There is no evidence that the Soviet Union had any desire to keep rolling west. They were quite happy to agree to Churchill's 'naughty document' and Stalin kept his side of that bargain by keeping out of the Greek conflict. They also left Finland alone having got what they wanted in the Russo-Finnish war. In my opinion, the Soviets would have stopped at the Rhine. In 1945, they were more interested in building a buffer to future aggressors than they were in building a European empire.

That would have allowed the UK and Free French to land in France but they would have lacked the strength to cross the Rhine.
This sounds about right

No, you don't get the last one either (see Jaggy's posts). And please refrain from the old tea-drinking stereotypes, it doesn't help your argument but it does make you sound a bit childish. Monty and his boys were hardly "sipping tea" in North Africa before the US arrived.

This is just a mind-blowingly dumb topic.

The United States came to the aid of Great Britain in the form of Lend-Lease and then as actual allies.

But Great Britain, by standing fast against Germany bailed out Western Civilization.

Now if some variation of that statement were acknowledged and taught in schools, I'd have a lot more respect and trust for the system itself.

Not so. The economies of the British and the USSR were far greater than Germany's. If the US was not in, neither were the Japanese. The Japanese were beaten in China in 1939 by the Soviets. Few know of that conflict. In 1939 Germany were against it against the British empire. Read out the economic aspects.

The Germans had radar, but it was more primitive. The air defence system the UK was the first Intranet. It was all tiered but under one control.

No. Can you count? Look up the number of men in the British empire. Franco would not join the Germans as he told Hitler he would get beat.

Blackshoe is correct.

The time when American forces helped to save the British, and even more so the French, Italians, the Low Countries etc. is by liberating them first before the Soviets arrived. This was something the British could not have done by themselves.

And also its after WW2, when American stayed in Europe and helped to form NATO.
