I would rather doubt that. The B-17 was an 4 engined bomber used to bomb Germany, but it's range was too short for much else. The B-29 was built with even longer range and able to bomb japan from some captured islands. Piston engine craft have shorter ranges than jets and jets are not in use at the time the B-17 was built. About the only place Russia would be able to land might be Alaska.
The U2 was built in the late 50ies long after WWII and was an spy plane. Very different aircraft. You really don't get the possibility of extremely long ranged bombing until the development of in-flight refueling.
